How to use the Online Whiteboard
- Pick a tool. Use the toolbar at the bottom: pen, highlighter, eraser, shapes and text. Keys work too — B pen, H highlighter, E eraser, T text.
- Choose a color and thickness. Click a color, or press 1 to 6. The three dots set thin, medium or thick lines.
- Draw and write. Drag to draw. For shapes, drag from corner to corner (hold Shift for a square, circle or straight 45° line). For text, click where the words should go, type and press Enter.
- Change the paper, then present. In Settings, choose grid, dots, lined or handwriting paper, or switch to a chalkboard. Press F for full screen and Space to hide the toolbar.
Classroom ideas
- Handwriting practice: choose the handwriting paper, model a letter between the guide lines in red, then let a pupil trace over it in blue.
- Worked examples: write a problem with the pen, then go over each key step with the highlighter as you talk it through — the ink stays readable underneath.
- Graphs and arrays: on grid paper, draw bar charts, arrays or area models that line up neatly, then download the picture for your slides.
- Math lesson board: open the Math lesson template to put this whiteboard beside a number line and 3D shapes.
- Think, pair, share: put a question on the chalkboard, give pairs a timer, then collect their ideas around it with arrows.

Frequently asked questions
Is my drawing saved?
Yes, in this browser on this computer. Close the tab and it is still there next time. Nothing is uploaded. To keep a copy or share it, click Download as a picture for a PNG.
What is the difference between the two erasers?
Whole strokes (the default) removes any line, shape or text it touches in one go — quick and precise, even with a finger. Rub out wipes away only the part you go over, like a real board eraser. Choose in Settings.
Why does my drawing have bars at the sides on a bigger screen?
A drawing keeps the shape of the screen it was started on, so nothing is cut off or stretched when it moves to a projector or a Board widget. Click Fit page to this screen in Settings to use the whole screen.
Does it work with a touch screen or stylus?
Yes. Draw with a finger, a pen or a mouse. With a pressure-sensitive stylus, pressing harder draws a thicker line.
How do I undo a mistake?
Press Z or click the undo arrow. Press Y to redo. Even clearing the whole board can be undone.
