How to use the 3D Dice Roller
- Choose your dice. Use the − and + buttons, or press a number key: 3 gives three dice. Pick D4 to D20 in Settings.
- Roll. Press Space, click Roll, or click anywhere on the table.
- Read the result. Each die’s value and the total appear at the top in large type for the whole class.
- Hold some dice. Click a die to hold it (it gets a gold ring). Only the others roll next time.
Classroom ideas
- Number bonds: roll two dice and ask the class for the total before revealing it — turn off the total with T.
- Place value: roll three dice and make the biggest and smallest three-digit numbers you can.
- Probability: roll two dice thirty times, tally the totals on the whiteboard and ask why 7 comes up most.
- Fact practice: use D12s and multiply the two numbers. Switch to D20s to stretch older pupils.
- Story starters: give each number a character, setting or problem, and let the dice choose.

Frequently asked questions
Are the dice fair?
Yes. Each value is drawn with your browser’s cryptographic random generator before the dice are thrown, with every face equally likely. The 3D physics only decides how the dice tumble, not what they show.
Can I use dice with numbers instead of dots?
Yes. In Settings, set Six-sided faces to Numbers. D4, D8, D10, D12 and D20 always show numbers.
How many dice can I roll?
From 1 to 12 at once. The camera rises to fit them all on the table.
What if my computer cannot show 3D?
The roller switches to flat dice that work everywhere, with the same fair results.
Can I keep some dice and re-roll the rest?
Yes. Click a die to hold it. Held dice stay where they are, ringed in gold, until you click them again.
