How to use the Classroom Clock
- Show the time. The clock shows the real time as soon as the page opens. Add the digital time or the time in words in Settings.
- Set a time to teach. Press S or Set the time, then drag the minute hand: the hour hand follows, just like a real clock. Drag the hour hand to jump whole hours.
- Quiz the class. Press Space for a random time. The answer stays hidden until you press A or Show answer.
- Go back to live time. Press R or Live time and the clock catches up with the real time.
Classroom ideas
- Learning o’clock and half past: set Random times to O’clock, turn on colored hands and ask “Where is the short red hand pointing?”
- Counting in fives: turn on the minute numbers so pupils can see that the 3 means 15 minutes, then turn them off once they’ve got it.
- Whiteboard quiz: press Space, pupils write the time on mini whiteboards, then press A to reveal it in digits and in words.
- Come and set it: say “twenty to nine” and invite a pupil to the board to drag the hands to the right place.
- Pin the clock to the Classroom Board beside the Lesson Agenda so everyone can see what’s next and when.
