How to use Class Points

  1. Add your class. Under Class list in Settings, click the pencil and paste your students’ names, one per line. Every name gets its own monster.
  2. Give points. Click a student’s tile for +1 (you will hear a pop). Right-click it, or click the small minus, to take one away.
  3. Reward the whole class. Press A or Space, or click +1 everyone, when the class works well together.
  4. Set a class goal. Pick a goal in Settings. When the class total reaches it, confetti and a fanfare celebrate. Press R to start a new round.

Classroom ideas

  • Team effort: set a class goal of 200 points and agree on the reward together: a game, extra recess or a class movie.
  • Catch them being good: keep the tool on the Classroom Board and award points quietly while students work, without stopping the lesson.
  • Table points: make a “class” whose names are your table groups and award points to whole tables for teamwork and tidy-up.
  • Weekly reset: download the CSV on Friday for your records, then reset with R for a fresh start on Monday.
  • Pick a helper: pair it with the Name Picker so the student who answers gets a point.

Frequently asked questions

Where are the points saved?
In this browser on this computer, separately for each class list. Nothing is uploaded and there are no student accounts. Use Download as CSV to keep a copy.
Can a student’s points go below zero?
No. The lowest score is zero, so a run of bad luck never leaves anyone in debt. Most teachers find positive-only points work best.
Where do the monsters come from?
Each one is drawn by the page from the letters of the student’s name, so “Ava” always gets the same monster. They are never uploaded or stored. You can turn them off in Settings.
How many students fit on the screen?
All of them. The tiles resize to fit, so 30 or more students show at once on a projector. In a small Board widget the monsters hide and the names and points stay.
Can I use it for houses or table groups?
Yes. Make a new class list whose “names” are your houses, teams or tables, and switch to it under Class list.
