How to use the Classroom Traffic Light
- Show the light. Press F to put the traffic light full screen on the projector, or add it to the Classroom Board beside your timer.
- Change the color. Click a lens, or press 1 for red, 2 for yellow and 3 for green. Space moves to the next light.
- Use your own words. Type what each color means for your class in Settings — “Silent work”, “Whisper to a partner”, “Free to move”.
- Let it run. Turn on Change by itself and set the minutes for each light to pace a routine without touching the computer.
Classroom ideas
- Transitions: green while pupils work, yellow two minutes before the end (“finish your sentence”), red when you need every eye on you.
- Help desk: green means you are free to take questions, red means you are working with a group — pupils try the instructions first.
- Movement: use red for “stay in your seat”, yellow for “move to get materials”, green for “free to move around the room”.
- Self-assessment: after a task, show each color and ask pupils to raise a hand for “stuck”, “getting there” or “got it”.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change what the colors mean?
Yes. Type your own words for red, yellow and green in Settings. Leave a box empty to go back to the standard words.
Can it change color on its own?
Yes. Turn on Change by itself and choose how many minutes to stay on green, yellow and red. A small countdown shows when the next change comes.
Can I lay it on its side?
Yes. Choose Sideways under Layout. That shape fits well along the top of the Classroom Board.
Does it work on an interactive whiteboard?
Yes. Tap a lens to light it. The lenses are large targets and the light needs no keyboard.
