How to use the QR Code Maker
- Paste your link. Click the link above the code (or press E), paste the address of your worksheet, form or video, and press Enter. The code updates as you type.
- Add a caption. Type a short line in Settings, like “Scan me for the homework”, so students know what they are scanning.
- Show it big. Click Make it full screen or press F. Students can scan it from their seats, even from the back row.
- Save or share it. Press D for a 1024-pixel PNG to drop into slides, a handout or your class page, or C to copy it.
Classroom ideas
- Exit tickets: put a QR code for your exit-ticket form on the screen for the last five minutes, next to a timer.
- Station rotations: print one QR code per station that opens its instructions or video, captioned “Station 3: fractions”.
- Homework links: show the code as students pack up so they can save the assignment link before they leave.
- Back-to-school night: a code for your class website or sign-up form on the board saves parents typing long addresses.
- Reading corner: stick codes inside book covers that open an audio version or a short author interview.

Frequently asked questions
Do QR codes made here expire?
No. The link is stored inside the pattern itself, so the code works for as long as the web page it points to exists. There is no redirect service in between.
Is my link sent anywhere?
No. The code is drawn in your browser by the open-source qrcode-generator library. The link and your recent-links list stay on this computer.
Which error correction level should I use?
M is right for a screen. Choose Q or H for printed codes that might get creased, smudged or partly covered by a sticker; they still scan with some of the pattern missing, but they are denser.
Why does the code not scan from the back of the room?
Make it bigger with F, turn the projector brightness up, and keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background. Long links make dense codes, so a shorter link helps too.
Can I use colors?
Yes. Pick a code color and a background in Settings. The tool warns you if the contrast is too low or the colors are reversed, because many phones then fail to read it.
